OK that's another scenario: you probably mentioned the check table in the AET wizard (not in domain that had been created manually beforehand) and you forgot to adapt the design layer customizing for the corresponding field I suppose =)
Sandya: why don't you let AET create a data element for you? As far as I know the "dropdown list" assignment block is not meant to display the values from a check table, but to allow you to add fixed-domain-values when you create a field in "non-expert" mode. See screenshot here (middle of the page):
